Locally
- Public School Achievement Gap In order to close the achievement gap, NCFH wants the district to treat student from minority communities, with equity, not equality. This means devoting more resources to these students, hiring better quality teachers, and preparing all students to meet higher standards. Working to rebuild healthy diverse communities is futile without quality schools.
Regionally
- Preserving Housing Affordability in Northside communities While it is currently difficult for low- and moderate-income families to find affordable rental housing in many Pittsburgh Communities, recent trends in the regional economy indicate that the situation will become much more severe over the next few years. If the affordable housing problem in Pittsburgh is not addressed, families will have a harder time staying in the region and potential workers and employers may choose to locate elsewhere.
Statewide
- Increasing Resources for Housing and Community Development Resources for housing production and preservation is critical NCFH is working on a State wide Housing Trust Fund.
Nationally
- Preserve affordable housing
- Protect tenants' rights
- Promote tenant ownership and control
